Two APS Scholarships launched to recognise outstanding students in public policy
The Department of Asian and Policy Studies (APS) set up
two scholarship programmes in April to support students in their pursuit of academic
excellence in public policy studies and to contribute to society.
The
"Professor Anthony Cheung Scholarship" was established to recognise outstanding
students in public policy, public management, and international relations. Students
taking master's and bachelor's degree programmes at APS are eligible to apply for
the scholarship.
Professor Anthony Cheung Bing-leung, Research Chair
Professor of Public Administration with APS, said, "I feel greatly honoured that
this scholarship award is named after me. The scholarship aims to recognise students
who are committed to working in the public sector and contributing to improving the
well-being of the community. Through this award, we hope to attract more people to
enrol in programmes related to public sector studies, and to contribute to the
well-being of society and changing the world for the better."
Meanwhile,
APS also launched the "Mr Clement Woo, MH, Scholarship" for students taking the
Master of Public Policy and Management programme. Mr Clement Woo Kin-man, MH,
generously donated money to set up this scholarship scheme to develop more talent in
the area of public policy in Hong Kong.
Mr Woo is an enthusiastic community
leader of the Tai Po District where EdUHK is located. He said, "Supporting young
people to pursue their studies in the area of public policy is very meaningful. I
really hope that the graduates can continue their career in public policy and
contribute to positive changes in our community."
Students who want to
study in the fields of public policy and management are encouraged to apply for
these scholarships. For more information, please visit the APS website.
